Co-Sponsored by Rid Racism Milwaukee and the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee

Building a Movement to End the New Jim Crow Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00 p.m. September 22; October 6; October 20

Join our discussion of Building a Movement to End the New Jim Crow: An Organizing Guide. Inspired by Michelle Alexander's The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindedness, this book by Daniel Hunter shifts the focus from studying the problems to solving those problems.

Learn how to exercise your power to help build a truly transformative movement for justice. Participants will read, discuss, collaborate, form action plans and hear from those directly impacted by mass incarceration.

Co-leaders: Jaime Alvarado, Co-Chair, Rid Racism Milwaukee; Reggie Jackson, Chairman, Board of Directors, Dr. James Cameron Legacy Foundation, operators of America's Black Holocaust Museum. Other facilitators: Dan Folkman, former UWM professor and Pat Katisch, co-chair Rid Racism Milwaukee.
Fee: $35 ---- $25 NPC members, CDBG, and affiliates of Rid Racism MKE. Book included.
