Join Rid Racism Milwaukee's lively summer book club discussion of The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander. (Three part series - biweekly)

This highly acclaimed examination into the mass incarceration of black males portrays the "war on drugs" as the new face of legalized racism in the US. Discussion will be based on a critical reading of Alexander’s argument and how it is playing out here in Milwaukee. We will also examine a cautionary critique by James Forman, Jr., Yale University law professor and son of the prominent civil rights leader James Forman.

Dates: Tuesdays, June 23, July 7 and July 21
Time: 6:00-8:00 p.m.
